9th UC3M Soloists and Music Groups Competition 2024–2025

The purpose of this call for entries is to promote musical participation among students at Carlos III University of Madrid through the “
” UC3M Soloist and Music Group Competition, thereby encouraging artistic creation, cultural diversity, and the development of talent on campus.

Come meet and hear from the winners and the first runner-up on Tuesday, June 10, at the Getafe fairgrounds at 9:00 p.m.

Due to the power outage and the subsequent cancellation of classes the following day, the deadline has been extended through Thursday, May 8. Anyone wishing to apply for this opportunity must fill out the following form:

The contest will be judged by a panel of qualified judges, consisting of:

Sonia García López, Associate Vice President for Culture, in her capacity as institutional representative.

Carmen Vela Campo is the founder and director of the “El Molino de Santa Isabel” music and dance school. She has extensive musical training and has studied with renowned musicians such as Patxi Pascual, Bob Sands, Adolfo Delgado, Félix Santos, and others. Founder of “
” and the group Los Jazzintos; curator of the Noches Bárbaras festival at the Círculo de Bellas Artes.

Miguel Revuelta Cazorla, a graduate of the Higher Conservatory of Music, is a guitar teacher at the Getafe Municipal School of Music. He has also organized various educational concerts, been a member of several musical ensembles, and is currently a musician with Royal Classics.

Kiko Sumillera, a musician, is an A&R representative and booking manager at El Volcán Música. He is the founder of La Piscina Música and is in charge of booking tours for artists such as Muchachito Bombo Infierno, Joe Crepúsculo, Tito Ramírez, Dani Dicostas, and Instituto
Mexicano del Sonido, among others.
